In order to support Bangladesh’s continuous prosperity, Prime Minister and President of the Awami League Sheikh Hasina has asked Bangladeshi expats working overseas to vote for her party’s “Boat” electoral symbol in the upcoming general election.
She raised awareness among Bangladeshis so that no looters could retake control and devastate the nation.
“We want cooperation from you all alongside seeking vote for the boat to continue the country’s advancement towards prosperity,” she said while addressing a civic reception accorded to her by Bangladeshi expatriates in South Africa on Thursday.The premier joined the reception from her Place of Residence, Hotel Radisson Blu Sandton, here through a video conference.
The Prime Minister urged Bangladeshis living abroad to investigate the situation so that the unstoppable speed of the nation’s progress could not be slowed down.
“Don’t leave the country to the grips of looters, otherwise it will be destroyed and make sure that the country’s journey towards development continues without any disruption,” she said.
The Prime Minister claimed that by voting for the boat, the citizens gained the country’s independence and financial stability, whereas by voting for the BNP, they received looting, corruption, and murder.
“We’re doing politics for welfare of the people, staying beside them in their bad times and changing their fortunes, “she said, adding that on the contrary the BNP-Jamaat clique is doing politics of burning people to death, making money through corruption, smuggling of firearms, money laundering, looting and destruction.
According to Khaleda Zia, the government has already recovered some of the cash that her two sons stole while freezing the rest.
The prime minister claimed she is unaware of the source of the funding used to ignite passenger buses and police cars in this another act of terrorism.
“This time, the people of the country will not spare them if they do excess,” she said, adding that the BNP-Jamaat clique have compelled to stop arson terrorism from 2013-2015 in which 500 people were burnt to death alive due to people’s protest.
According to the Prime Minister, Tarique Zia, Khaleda Zia’s son, was found guilty in the grenade attack on August 21, 2004, 10-truck guns haul, and graft cases, and Tarique’s wife was found guilty in the graft case. Khaleda Zia was condemned for embezzling money intended for orphans.
According to her, the BNP’s top leaders are currently serving prison sentences, and they are using politics to keep them in the spotlight.
“The people will not vote for them. The people will not vote for the BNP to come to power. The masses will not bring the arson terrorists in power again,” she said.
