Iwama Kiminori, Japan’s ambassador to Bangladesh, stated today that Japan is likely to increase its investment in Bangladesh in the coming days.
When the ambassador paid a courtesy call on Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal at his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat today, he expressed his interest.
Kiminori stated that the long-standing good relationship between Japan and Bangladesh would continue in the future.
According to a Finance Ministry press release, he also mentioned the many developments that occurred during and after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent visit to Japan.
Recalling the two countries’ longstanding close connections, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal stated that Japan is a time-tested friend of Bangladesh, and that the country is making significant contributions to Bangladesh’s socioeconomic growth.
Given Bangladesh’s present economic success, Kamal believes the moment has come to transform this bilateral collaboration into a strategic partnership.
He also emphasized the importance of working on mutual cooperation on issues of common interest between the two countries.
During the meeting, they also discussed a variety of matters concerning shared interests.
