Bangladesh Cricket Board has signed a 48-month contract with Australian firm Popullous Pte. Limited as the International Consultant for the Sheikh Hasina Cricket Stadium in Purbachal, Dhaka.
A signing ceremony was held between the BCB and Populas at a city hotel Wednesday.
BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury and Andrew Frederick James, Director, Popullous Pte. Ltd, along with other dignitaries were present at the signing of the agreement which consists 387 pages.
Populas will be responsible for completing work of the Sheikh Hasina Cricket Stadium within 30 months from the day of signing.
And in the following 12 months, the firm will be accountable for the maintenance of the biggest cricket venue of the country.
Among the two short-listed Australian organizations, BCB awarded the tender to Populas to build the venue named after the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Populas has the experience of building famous sporting venues around the world that has been part of the Olympics and Fifa World Cup.
