On Wednesday, Netflix introduced the new cast of “Berlin,” the Spanish spinoff series to the streaming service’s hugely popular Money Heist.
According to rumors, Pedro Alonso will reprise his role as the hedonistic, witty jewel thief Andres de Fonollosa, often known as Berlin, from the first series in the upcoming prequel series, which details the astounding heists pulled off before the events of the original show. The goal of the spinoff series, according to Money Heist writers Esther Martinez Lobato and Alex Pina, was to take Alonso’s Berlin, “the most brilliant personality” of the original Money Heist, and set it in a different environment.
At a Netflix event in Madrid on Wednesday, they stated, “We loved the notion of introducing a new group around Berlin in a completely different emotional condition.”
David Oliva, David Berrocal, Lobato, and Pina all contributed to the writing of the show Berlin’s first eight episodes. The directors are Barrocal, Albert Pinto, and Geoffrey Cowper.
Along with him, his new crew will consist of Joel Sanchez as Bruce, a relentless man of action, Begoa Vargas as the unstable Cameron, Julio Pea Fernandez as the devoted Roi, and Michelle Jenner as Keila, an electronics specialist. Tristan Ulloa (Faria) will play Berlin’s friend and charitable professor Damian.
On 3rd October, Berlin will start filming in Paris. Over the course of several weeks, production will occur in Madrid and the French capital, as per media reports.
