The Kennedy Center, one of America’s most esteemed cultural honors, has honored Gladys Knight and George Clooney, two icons of the movie industry.
The 45th class will be honored on December 4 at the center’s annual banquet, featuring American composer Tania Leon, modern Christian and pop musician Amy Grant, Irish rockers U2, and more.
The Kennedy Center, a performing arts complex in Washington that serves as a living memorial to the late President John F. Kennedy, was affected by the pandemic like all other arts organizations and was forced to postpone, cancel, or scale back prior celebrations.
In contrast, this year’s seemed to be on pace to bring the glamor to Washington, where such red carpet events are uncommon, barring the unanticipated.

After several of the celebrated musicians vowed to boycott the event in his first year in office if he attended, Donald Trump defied convention and did not go during his presidency.
The ceremony this year promised a lineup of A-list tributes to individuals being honored.
