According to BSS, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) released a 15-man squad for the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan on Monday, which includes two new faces in Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Ebadot Hossain.
Despite the fact that they both played Test cricket, they were called up for the first time for the ODI team after demonstrating the skills required to play the one-day format of the game.
However, the selection panel, directed by Minhajul Abedin Nannu, made significant alterations to the team, removing as many as seven players.
The seven players dismissed from the last ODI team that played an ODI series in Zimbabwe are Naim Sheikh, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Rubel Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mohammad Mithun, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, and Taijul Islam.
Yasir Ali Chowdhury, who has yet to get an ODI cap, Nasum Ahmed, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who were not in the Zimbabwe ODI team, joined Joy and Ebadot on the field.
Ebadot’s performance in the first Test against New Zealand, in which he claimed 6-46 to help Bangladesh win the match, prompted him to be considered. According to the head selector, Joy, on the other side, demonstrated his capacity to play any format of cricket.
