Bringing previously featured characters to the forefront of the MCU appears to be a popular pattern in the MCU these days.
Sharon Carter, played by Emily VanCamp, was revealed to be the Power Broker in Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Trevor Slattery, played by Sir Ben Kingsley, was no longer impersonating the Mandarin in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Peggy Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, is also a captain in Marvel Studios’ first animated series, What If…?
Peggy established herself as the multiversal Captain Carter in an alternate reality based on 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger in the first episode. Since then, viewers have seen hints of her return in the series, presumably as the leader of the legendary Guardians of the Multiverse.
Hayley Atwell will reportedly reprise her role as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in the upcoming live-action film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, bringing her animated heroine from the small screen to the big screen.
Since Atwell is re-establishing herself as a major player in the MCU, it appears that Marvel Studios is also honouring her previous achievements, such as the recent release of her One-Shot, Agent Carter, on Disney+.
