Former lead vocalist of American rock band Skid Row Johnny Salinger has died. He was 55 years old.
He died last Saturday, almost a month after he told his fans he was suffering from liver disease.
Confirming the news of his death, ‘Skid Row’ paid tribute to the former singer through a post on their official Instagram page. Wrote, ‘We are shocked to learn of the news of our brother Johnny Salinger. I have sympathy for his family, friends and fans.
“Rest in peace, singo,” wrote the band’s bassist and lead lyricist Rachel Bolan in a separate Instagram post.
Selanger joined Sebastian Bach, the frontman of the popular metal band, which was formed in 1986, in 1999. When he left the band in 2015, he was replaced by Tony Harnell.
Salinger has sung on a number of albums by the band, including ‘ThickSkin’, ‘Revolution Per Minute’, ‘United World Rebellion’ and ‘Rise of the Damnation Army’.
In his personal life, this American rocker was getting married to Argentine actress Paula Marquero.
Newly widowed Paula shared a quote on her Instagram story, ‘The reality is, you have to bear the burden of mourning forever. The pain of losing a loved one cannot be overcome. We have to learn to live with it. ‘
