Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said that if the next consignment of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is not received from the Seram Institute of India, the money will be sought back. He told the media on Wednesday (May 5).
Meanwhile, half a million Covid vaccines from China are coming to the country by next Wednesday, said the Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen. Attempts are also being made to bring vaccines from the United States, the foreign minister told reporters. The matter would be discussed with US Ambassador to Dhaka Earl Robert Miller on Friday.
Speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare this morning, Health Secretary Lokman Hossain Mia expressed hope that the vaccine would arrive from China in the shortest possible time.
Earlier, on April 29, the Department of Drug Administration gave urgent approval to the Chinese vaccine Sinovac after Russia. Director-General of the Department of Drug Administration, Mahbubur Rahman said that within the next one week, 5 lakh doses of vaccine given by China will come.
