Pakistan allocated Rs 2,100 crore to buy vaccines

Pakistan has allocated Tk 2,125 crore (250 million) to buy a coronavirus vaccine. The country has also signed undisclosed agreements with various multinational companies to ensure vaccination. Dawn’s news.

According to the report, Pakistan had initially allocated Rs 1,275 crore (150 million) to buy the vaccine. Later it was increased to Tk 2,125 crore. The matter was confirmed to Dawn by Nowshin Hamid, Parliamentary Secretary of the National Health Service (NHS) of Pakistan.

Nowshin Hamid said that agreements are being made with several organizations to ensure that vaccines are available. Russia recently offered to buy the vaccine from him. As public health is our top priority, attention is being paid to whether the vaccine is safe and effective.

Nowshin Hamid hopes that the vaccine will reach all people by the end of next year. A senior health ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said agreements had been reached with a few more organizations besides contacting the six international organizations involved in making the vaccine.
