Exactly two years after the 2018 World Cup final, Fifa has announced the final schedule of FIFA-Qatar World Cup 2022.
The World Cup in Qatar will witness an unprecedented event. Fans will see four matches in one day, just 11 hours apart. The first match will start at 1 pm local time. The fourth match will start at 10 pm.
The tournament will start on November 21, 2022. FIFA announced the final schedule and start date of the World Cup on their official Twitter handle on Wednesday.
Due to the short distance between the stadiums around Doha, football fans can go to the field on the same day and enjoy a few matches. The first match of the 32-team tournament will be played on November 21 at the Al Bayt Stadium, with a capacity of 60,000 spectators.
The final of the tournament will be held on December 18, 2022, at the Lucille Stadium with a capacity of 80,000 spectators. Like Al Bayt, a semifinal match will be held here.
Nasser Al Khater, chief executive of Qatar’s World Cup organizing committee, said work on the World Cup was progressing at a rapid pace and that 90 percent of the road and infrastructure work had been completed.
