Remittance inflow crosses $3b mark in 29 days of April

According to figures issued today by the Bangladesh Bank (BB), the nation’s remittance inflow has surpassed the $3 billion milestone within the first 29 days of April, demonstrating consistent high inflows from Bangladeshis living abroad.

Remittance receipts totaled $3,002 million during this time, up 15.1% from $2,608 million during the same period the previous year.

On a cumulative basis, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $29,210 million in remittances from July to April 29 of the current fiscal year, significantly higher than $24,393 million recorded in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

The continued rise in remittance inflows is playing a vital role in supporting external sector stability, strengthening foreign exchange reserves, and contributing to overall macroeconomic resilience.
