Today, Bangladesh and Belarus talked about ways to increase skilled and semi-skilled labor migration as well as more general trade, industrial, and people-to-people interaction.
According to a news release here, the conversation started when Mikhail Kasko, the non-resident ambassador of Belarus to Bangladesh, visited State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two sides had fruitful talks about strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, defense, textiles and RMG, information technology, pharmaceuticals, skilled and semi-skilled labor migration, and jute.
They also stressed the importance of strengthening people-to-people contacts to further solidify the foundation of bilateral relations.
Both sides agreed that different bilateral mechanisms, including Foreign Office Consultations, should be held more frequently to expedite discussions and advance cooperation in identified priority areas.
The state minister expressed Bangladesh’s willingness to work closely with Belarus to further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
The ambassador expressed the Belarusian government’s willingness to cooperate with Bangladesh’s new government and congratulated the state minister on taking office.
As the meeting came to an end, both parties expressed gratitude for the cordial discussions and reiterated their commitment to strengthening and expanding ties between Bangladesh and Belarus in the years to come.
