Trust Bank launches Union Pay debit and credit cards

Trust Bank PLC formally introduced UnionPay debit and credit cards on Sunday at a hotel in the capital.

Waqar-uz-Zaman, Chairman of Trust Bank PLC and Chief of Army Staff, introduced the new cards.

Major General Md. Hossain Al Morshed, Vice Chairman and Adjutant General of the Bangladesh Army; Larry Wang, Managing Director and CEO of UnionPay International; Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, Country Manager of UnionPay International Bangladesh; and Md. Masud Raihan, EVP and Head of Cards of Trust Bank Md. Mustafa Musharraf, among others, were present at the event.

The launch of UnionPay cards marks a significant milestone in expanding Trust Bank’s global payment solutions and enhancing customer benefits, said a press release today.

Bangladeshi consumers will have access to a variety of services both domestically and internationally across UnionPay network countries with the new cards. According to the PR release, these include easy foreign transactions, school price payments, medical expenditure reimbursements, access to airport lounges, and other special lifestyle perks.

Speaking at the function, the Army Chief and chairman of Trust Bank stated that the collaboration with UnionPay International is intended to guarantee sophisticated and safe banking services in line with the digital age.

He continued by saying that the cards will offer clients from a variety of industries, such as students, those seeking medical care, and businesses, easy and widely recognized financial transaction services.

Trust Bank PLC reinforced its dedication to cutting-edge banking services, customer-focused operations, and the growth of the nation’s digital banking industry with this effort.
