Today, the excavation of a canal at Bagbari of Gabtoli upazila in his ancestral home district of Bogura was officially opened by Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., the premier began the excavation of the Chaukirdah canal in Bagbari’s Nashipur neighborhood by using a spade to cut the ground.
Among those in attendance were Central Krishak Dal Senior Vice-President Md Helaluzzaman Talukder, Bogura Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Toufikur Rahman, and local politician Morshed Milton.
911 recipients received “Family Cards” earlier from the Prime Minister at the Shaheed Zia Degree College grounds in Bagbari, Gabtoli upazila. The premier arrived at the Bogura Circuit House at 9:58am on a daylong tour.
This is Tarique Rahman’s maiden visit to his ancestral home district after assuming office as the Prime Minister on February 17.
