Justice Manik, Sohail interrogated in Sagor-Runi murder case 

In the murder case of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi, retired Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail and former Supreme Court (SC) Appellate Division Judge AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik were questioned.

According to investigating officer Azizul Haque, they were recently questioned at the Dhaka Central Jail gate by a powerful taskforce established by the Home Ministry.

He stated, “Their information is being verified.”

On February 18, the investigating officer was authorized by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Azharul Islam to question Manik and Sohail at the jail gate.

An other suspect in the case, Enam Ahmed, also known as Humayun Kabir, was questioned at the jail gate, according to the IO.

On February 11, 2012, a journalist couple named Sagar and Runi were killed in their West Rajabazar apartment under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar thana.
