Supradip Chakma, the affairs adviser for Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), encouraged the women of the area to become creative businesswomen in order to become self-sufficient today.
“To become good entrepreneur, you have to be innovative by changing the tradition of the existing products to attract the people,” he said this while exchanging views with the women entrepreneurs of the CHT areas at Rangamati Hill District Council auditorium.
Entrepreneur and adviser’s wife Nandita Chakma, Trisila, Sanjida, and Monowara Begum spoke at the event, while Rangamati Hill District Council Chairman Kajol Talukdar made the welcome address. The event was moderated by Khandkar Rezaul Karim, the Rangamati Zila Parishad’s chief executive officer.
“The women entrepreneurs would have to come forward to develop more and make the products sustainable,” the adviser said adding that if necessary, they would have to be trained on this issue.
He also assured of financial assistance to the women entrepreneurs of the area and the government has taken initiative to construct three multi-storied building in three hill districts.
“They would be able to use this space by setting up of computer online platform, facebook village, fantastic platform, entrepreneurs fair and ethnic community village to sell their products” , Supradip added.
