According to an AFP journalist, French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Beirut on Friday morning to meet with Joseph Aoun, the newly elected president of Lebanon, and Nawaf Salam, the prime minister-designate.
At approximately 6:45 a.m. (04:45 GMT), Macron’s aircraft touched down at the airport in the Lebanese capital.
In order to meet with his counterpart and provide assistance as Lebanon’s authorities attempt to usher in a new era in their nation’s difficult past, French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Beirut on Friday.
Nawaf Salam was appointed prime minister-designate by Joseph Aoun, who was elected president on January 9 after more than two years of political emptiness at the top.
After years of economic crisis and a horrific Israel-Hezbollah war, they now have the difficult burden of guiding Lebanon.
