South Korea opposition accuse ruling party of ‘second coup’

The opposition in South Korea said Monday that the ruling party was committing a “second coup” by holding onto power and not impeaching President Yoon Suk Yeol for declaring martial law.

Democratic Party floor leader Park Chan-dae urged the ruling party to “stop it immediately,” saying that “no matter how they try to justify it, the essence remains unchanged: this is an unlawful, unconstitutional act of a second insurrection and a second coup.”
