In an attempt to reach clients at their doorstep, Teletalk Bangladesh, a state-owned mobile phone provider, has introduced an online SIM service.
In order to accomplish this, Teletalk has partnered with the Bangladesh Postal Department to distribute the SIM card to consumers via post offices.
According to a ministry press statement issued today, Md. Nahid Islam, the adviser for posts, telecommunications, information technology, and information and broadcasting, opened the trial services at his office on Hare Road in the city on Wednesday.
The service was first offered as a trial program, first at 11 post offices in the districts of Rajshahi, Naogaon, and Chapainawabganj. It will eventually be made available at all post offices nationwide.
Customers would be able to select and order their preferred SIM number online, pick it up from a handy post office, or have it delivered to their home thanks to Teletalk and the Postal Department’s partnership.
Customers can now pay with a mobile wallet to have their selected Teletalk SIM delivered to their home for Taka 300 or pick it up from specific post offices for Taka 250.
Customers can use an automatic tracking number to monitor the delivery status of their SIM during this process.
You can place an online order for the SIMs by going to the “Online SIM” section of Teletalk’s website (teletalk.com.bd).
Senior representatives from Teletalk and the Postal Department attended the occasion, including Director General (DG) of the Bangladesh Post Office SM Shahab Uddin, Teletalk Managing Director Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, and Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Dr. Muhammad Mushfiqur Rahman.
