Although officials had not previously acknowledged civilian deaths, Iranian media on Monday claimed that a civilian had been killed during the Israeli strikes that hit military sites over the weekend.
The local Fars news agency said, “The martyr Allahverdi Rahimpour, a civilian who was killed near Tehran during the recent attack by the Zionist regime, has been buried.” The death was also reported by the Tasnim news agency.
