Tonight, in the Mohakhali DOHS neighbourhood of the city, police detained Md. Atiqul Islam, the former mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Media and Public Relations for the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Muhammad Talebur Rahman, verified to BSS that he was apprehended at 7 p.m. today.
Atiqul was charged with multiple offences, including three murder charges at the Mohammadpur Police Station.
