According to the military ministry on Sunday, Israeli military Minister Yoav Gallant informed his US colleague Lloyd Austin that Israel will keep taking precautions to protect UN forces stationed in southern Lebanon.
Following their overnight discussions, the ministry released a statement saying, “Minister Gallant emphasised… the IDF (Israeli military) will continue to take measures to avoid harm to UNIFIL troops and peacekeeping positions” in southern Lebanon. As Israeli soldiers battle Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, at least five peacekeepers have suffered injuries recently.
