Russian military says it has captured town in eastern Ukraine

On Sunday, the Russian army announced that it had occupied a town in eastern Ukraine, where Moscow’s forces are advancing on the strategic city of Pokrovsk.

In a statement, the defense ministry announced that Russian forces have “liberated the locality of Novohrodivka” in the Donetsk region, which is approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Pokrovsk city.
