Prof Mohammad Azam joins as Bangla Academy DG

Today, Professor Dr. Mohammad Azam assumed the role of Director General (DG) of Bangla Academy.

According to a press release, the government has appointed Prof. Mohammad Azam as the Director General of Bangla Academy for the next three years, commencing on September 5, 2024, in accordance with Section-26(2) and Section-26(3) of the Bangla Academy Act, 2013.

The Academy’s Secretary, Md Nayed Ali, and directors and deputy directors extended their warmest greetings to the newly appointed Director General at the Shaheed Munir Chowdhury conference hall.

Mohammad Azam stated during his speech at the event that the Bangla Academy is held in high regard by the people of Bangladesh, and the aspirations of the compatriots have increased as a result of the recent upsurge.

He expressed optimism that Bangla Academy will be able to transform into a national institute that is research-oriented through the collective efforts of all.
