Shanto to discuss Shakib issue with Chief Adviser

Najmul Hossain Shanto, the captain of Bangladesh, has expressed his eagerness to engage in a conversation with Prof. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim administration of Bangladesh, regarding the matter of Shakib Al Hasan.

Shakib was accused with murder, and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) received a legal notice to remove him from the national team. Nevertheless, the BCB clarified its stance, asserting that the all-rounder is permitted to continue playing until his culpability is established.

Shakib was instrumental in Bangladesh’s historic series sweep against Pakistan and also scored the clinching boundary in the second Test.

Muhammad Yunus contacted Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto following the unforgettable triumph. In addition to extending his congratulations to the team, he announced that they would be honored with a reception upon their return home. The reception is scheduled to occur in the next few days.

Shakib is unable to attend the reception due to his immediate arrival in the United Kingdom from Pakistan to participate in a County Championship match for Surrey.

“Shakib’s situation is distinct, as I previously clarified.” Shanto responded to a question after the Tigers returned home from Pakistan in the early hours of today, stating that “every player will be on Shakib’s side if the issue is discussed with the Chief Adviser during the reception.”
