In order to care for the injured, their families, and the families of the deceased who took part in the student-led revolution in July and August of 2024, the government has made the decision to establish a foundation.
According to a news statement from the CA news Wing, the foundation will be led by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and comprise representatives from the student body, the family members of the injured and dead, and an adviser to the interim government.
“We can never forget the contributions of the students and people who sacrificed their lives and who were grievously wounded while participating in the protests against the dictatorship,” Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus said.
“It is my duty and our national duty to stand by their side. We will do whatever is needed to take good care of the wounded and families of the deceased as soon as possible,” he added.
He claimed that plans had been made for their family’s and their medical needs. He went on, “Departments and officials from the government would be assigned in this regard.”
The foundation’s procedures will shortly be made public. The organization has asked for donations from the general public as well as the Bangladeshi diaspora.
