Torrential rain leaves 45 dead in Yemen: UN agency, local official

45 people have died in Yemen in recent days as a result of flooding brought on by intense rain, according to figures released on Wednesday by a local official and a United Nations agency.

In Maqbanah, in the southwest province of Taez, flash floods claimed 15 lives, according to a social media post by the UN humanitarian organization OCHA.

Governor Mohamed Qahim reported 30 killed and five missing in the Hodeida region, which is under the control of Huthi rebels.
