Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince to visit Japan May 20-23

Tokyo announced on Friday that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will meet with the prime minister and emperor during his formal visit to Japan, which is scheduled for May 20–23.

“It is hoped that the visit to Japan by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the foreign ministry said.

The crown prince is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Emperor Naruhito during his visit.

The Middle Eastern nation’s de facto supreme authority is the crown prince.

It is anticipated that he and Kishida would primarily talk about bilateral cooperation on technology connected to decarbonization, considering Saudi Arabia’s determination to transform its oil-dependent economy.

They will also discuss the worsening circumstances in the Gaza Strip, which is Palestinian territory.
