In Tungipara, the PM honors Bangabandhu with beautiful words.

Today at Tungipara in Gopalganj, the mausoleum of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid heartfelt homage and offered prayers.

She honored Bangabandhu by laying a floral wreath on his tomb and participated in a prayer this morning for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and the other martyrs of the August 15, 1975 bloodbath, asking for eternal peace.

She stood in somber silence for a while after laying the wreaths in remembrance of the man who designed Bangladesh’s independence.

Sheikh Rehana, the younger sister of Prime Minister and father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, as well as other family members were in attendance.

Sheikh Hasina, who is also the President of the Awami League, crossed the Padma Bridge this morning and traveled by road to her ancestral home at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

She is expected to travel to Dhaka this afternoon from Tungipara.
