Russia says downed 17 Ukrainian drones

The Russian military stated on Sunday that it had shot down 17 Ukrainian drones during the course of the night in various western locations.

“The air defence systems intercepted and destroyed seventeen Ukrainian UAVs,” the ministry said in a Telegram post.

According to the ministry, nine drones were shot down in Bryansk, three in Kursk, and two in Belgorod. The majority of the drones were shot down in areas that border Ukraine.

Three others were destroyed in Kaluga’s interior.

In recent months, Ukraine has claimed a number of strikes against Russian oil storage facilities and refineries.

Some of Moscow’s largest attacks have also been directed on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The attacks have knocked out a significant chunk of production, triggering blackouts and energy rationing across Ukraine.
