Ukraine imposes blackouts after power station attacks

Following targeted Russian strikes that destroyed multiple power plants, Ukraine declared on Friday that it was implementing emergency blackouts in three parts of the nation and asked citizens to reduce their electrical consumption.

“Ukrenergo’s dispatch centre is forced to apply emergency blackout schedules until the evening in the regions of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kirovograd,” the company stated in a statement, pointing to “the massive Russian attack on Ukrainian power plants overnight.”
