China wants to import jute goods from Bangladesh

China’s ambassador, Yao Wen, met with Bangladesh’s Minister of Textiles and Jute, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, at the latter’s secretariat office today and indicated a strong desire to purchase jute goods from that country.

Following the meeting, the minister briefed media on the Chinese envoy’s commendation of the Bangladeshi government’s progress in many areas.

They talked on a number of topics during the meeting, including Chinese students’ access to study at Bangladesh’s numerous educational institutions.

They also discussed the progress of various development projects of Bangladesh’s textiles and jute sectors.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was hailed by the Chinese ambassador upon taking office for a fourth term in a row.

In response to a query, Nanak—a member of the Awami League Presidium as well—stated that China is Bangladesh’s development partner.

According to him, China is crucial to Bangladesh’s prosperity.

Under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s dynamic leadership, the minister believed Beijing would continue to cooperate in creating ‘Smart Bangladesh’.
