The youngest private airline in the nation, Air Astra, announced today that Sohail Majid has been named Chief Commercial Officer.
According to a news release, he has held executive positions at US Bangla Airlines, Novoair, Regent Airways, Best Air, Singapore Airlines, SilkAir, and China Southern. He has 25 years of experience in the aviation and travel industries.
Prior to joining Air Astra, Majid served as Chief Operating Officer at ShareTrip, one of the country’s online travel agencies.
Air Astra began commercial operations on November 24, 2022, and presently operates 28 daily flights with three French-built ATR 72-600 aircraft, configured with 70 seats, from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar, Chattagram, Sylhet, and Saidpur.
