Bagdad Sharif’s Motwalli invites PM to perform jiarat at Shrine of Boro Pir

Today, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was called by Motwalli Hazrat Sheikh Khalid Abdul Quader Monsoor Al Jilani (R) of Bagdad Sharif, Iraq, to perform jiarat at the Shrine of Boro Pir Abdul Quader Jilani (R).

While making a courtesy call to the Prime Minister at her Sangsad Bhaban office, he extended the invitation.

Hazrat Sheikh Khalid Abdul Quader Monsoor Al Jilani (R) told the Premier about Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s visit to the Shrine of Abdul Quader Jilani (R) in 1974 during his visit to Iraq, according to Deputy Press Secretary for the Prime Minister Noorelahi Mina during a news briefing.

Additionally, he gave the Prime Minister a gilaf of the Shrine and a picture of Jalipaak.

The Motwalli mentioned that there is good connections between Bangladesh and Iraq and that the people of Bangladesh have great regard for the Boro Pir.

Following the tragic Nimtoli fire event, Sheikh Hasina claimed to have adopted two Shia girls and planned their marriage rituals, much like she would have her own children.


Hazrat Sheikh Khalid Abdul Quader Monsoor Al Jilani (R) was commended by her for coming to Bangladesh.

There were several notable people in attendance, including Anjuman Kaderiya Bangladesh President Md. Mahbub Ul Alam, Treasurer Syed Mamnoon Quader, PMO Secretary Mohammad Salauddin, former member of parliament Qurayeshi, and its member Ziaul Jamal Abu Swaeed Siddiqui.
