Bangladesh and Egypt to form parliamentary friendly group

Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, the speaker of Jatiya Sangsad (JS), was visited by Egyptian Ambassador to Bangladesh Omar Mohim Aldin Ahmed Fahmi today in her office.

According to a release, the topics of discussion during the meeting included bilateral matters such as parliamentary relations, the establishment of a friendly parliamentary group and its operations, and the advancement of parliamentary activities between the two nations.

According to Chaudhury, the formation of the Bangladesh-Egypt Parliamentary Friendly Group by the 12th parliament will be a significant step in fostering positive ties between the two nations’ citizens. She stated that exchanging legislative experiences will benefit both nations.

She expressed her hope that the good relations between Egypt and Bangladesh would continue into the future, stating that they have been friends for a long time.

The Egyptian envoy congratulated Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and mentioned the historical ties between Egypt and Bangladesh.

In attendance were key members of the parliament secretariat as well as JS Whip Iqbalur Rahim.
