Awami League to hold rally at Suhrawardy Udyan Wednesday

Following its victory in the 12th national parliamentary election, the Awami League has scheduled a demonstration for this Wednesday in Dhaka.

The rally honoring Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s homecoming day is scheduled to take place at Suhrawardy Udyan at 2:30 p.m.

This was said by the party’s general secretary, Obaidul Quader, during a press conference held on Monday afternoon at the Tejgaon headquarters of the Dhaka District Awami League. According to him, the rally will be presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Obaidul Quader said: “Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is going to become the prime minister for the fourth time in a row and fifth time in total. Ambassadors from India, Russia, China, Bhutan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan and Brazil met and congratulated her.”

After taking 223 of 299 seats in the national parliamentary elections that were conducted on Sunday, the Awami League was able to secure an absolute majority in parliament.
