Biden to skip UN climate summit in Dubai: The New York Times

According to The New York Times, which cited a White House official, US President Joe Biden will not attend COP28, a significant UN climate conference being held in Dubai.

The spokesperson did not provide an explanation for why the US president will not be present at the two-week meeting.

Vice President Kamala Harris’s spokeswoman, Kirsten Allen, stated that she does not intend to attend COP28.

Biden’s special envoy on climate change, John Kerry, will represent the United States in Dubai.

The United Nations Climate Change Conference of 2023 will take place in Dubai from November 30 to December 12.
