Actor Jamie Foxx accused of sexual assault: court filing

Oscar-winning US actor Jamie Foxx has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2015, according to a New York court filing Wednesday.

In the document the plaintiff, identified only as Jane Doe, alleges Foxx “intentionally and without consent used force to offensively touch” her, by groping her breasts and genitals at a rooftop bar in Manhattan.

An inquiry about Foxx’s representatives’ stance on the lawsuit—which demands unspecified damages—was not immediately answered.

According to the lawsuit, Foxx started touching the woman and pushing his hands under her clothes against her will. When her friend discovered them, the interaction was interrupted, and the woman walked away.

The actor is best known for his Academy Award-winning portrayal of singer Ray Charles in the 2004 film “Ray.” He also earned an Oscar nomination for his supporting role that same year in the film “Collateral.”
