The “health of humankind” was impacted by the Fukushima nuclear plant’s wastewater leak, Chinese President Xi Jinping informed Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, according to Beijing’s foreign ministry on Friday.
“Xi Jinping pointed out during a meeting with… Kishida that the release of contaminated water from Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant concerns the health of all mankind,” foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said, adding Xi had urged Kishida during talks in San Francisco to consider “legitimate concerns at home and abroad”.
