Four Dhaka buses were set on fire

Four buses were set on fire by miscreants on Saturday night in the Motijheel, Gabtoli, Gulistan, and Jatrabari neighborhoods of the city.

Ershad Hossain, the Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters’ control room in-charge, stated that the occurrences happened between 8:20 and 9:27 p.m.

At 8:20 p.m., a passenger bus was set on fire in front of the Notre Dame College in Motijheel, according to the headquarters. Firefighters are attempting to put out the fire after racing to the scene.

At 8:30 p.m., a second passenger bus caught fire in the vicinity of the Gabtoli bus terminal.

Later, at 9:00 p.m. and 9:27 p.m., respectively, two more busses were set on fire in the Falpatti neighborhood of Jatrabari and in front of Sundarbans Square Market in Gulistan.

The BNP had called for a new phase of blockade, which coincided with the fire events.

The party has been part of a movement, along with other like-minded organizations, calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the establishment of an impartial government during election season.
