Travel ships are back sailing the Teknaf–St. Martin route

Today marked the return of tourist ships to the Teknaf-St Martin sea route after it had been closed for two days.

Around ten in the morning, three ships carrying about 1,300 visitors sailed from Damdamiya Jetty Ghat in Teknaf for St. Martin Island. The government of Teknaf Upazila banned all maritime route operations for two days in preparation for Cyclone Hamon.

The prohibition on the passage of all types of vessels, including tourist ships, on the route was lifted this morning, according to Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Adnan Chowdhury.

He said that stranded travelers could return to the mainland today.
