Ukraine says downed 25 of 33 Russian drones overnight

The Ukrainian air force reported on Friday that it had shot down 25 of 33 Russian assault drones that had been flown overnight over its territory.

The air force reported the downing of 25 Shahed 131 and 136 drones in six different locations, including Odesa, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Dnipro.

It was not specified which targets the additional eight drones may have hit.

Earlier, the governor of Odesa’s southern region said that port infrastructure in the Izmail district, on the Danube river close to the Romanian border, was the target of drone attacks.

Oleg Kiper reported on Telegram that three of the drones used in the attack had been destroyed. He added that no one had been hurt, but a grain storage facility had been damaged.

According to earlier Telegram messages from Ukrainian defense forces, eight additional drones were destroyed in the southern Mykolaiv region.
