World will know about Bangabandhu through his biopic: Hasan

The biopic “Mujib – The Making of a Nation,” which had its world debut in Canada today, depicts Bangabandhu’s unyielding fight and sacrifices for the country, according to Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud.

“Through the film, the new generation and the global community as well would know how Bangabandhu became a founder of a nation,” he said prior to watching the movie, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shyam Benegal, at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.

According to a press statement we received here, the much-anticipated premiere of “Mujib- The Making of a Nation,” the biopic of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation, was screened at the Bellight Box Cinema 7 venue.

Speaking at the event were the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Canada Khalilur Rahman, Nusrat Faria, Arifin Shuvoo, who played Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the movie, and scriptwriter Atul Tiwari, among others.

At the film’s debut, the managing director of the BFDC, Nuzhat Yesmin, the joint secretary of the information and broadcasting ministry, Kawsar Ahmed, and expatriates and foreigners were all in attendance.

According to Dr. Hasan, the younger generation is unaware of how Bangladesh attained independence and how the country went from being unarmed to being armed in response to Bangabandhu’s clarion call. Even the witnesses who managed to flee the atrocity don’t know how the 1975 killings were carried out. “The film also depicts the pathetic incidents,” he continued.

He stated that the movie has already been certified by the censor board and would be distributed throughout the nation in October.

The film will be released in Hindi and Bangla, Atul Tiwari announced first. The movie is now being prepared for global release.

The biopic’s filming ran from January 22 through December 18, 2021.

The movie’s first poster, second poster, and first trailer were all unveiled in 2022 on March 17, May 3, and May 19, respectively, at the Cannes Film Festival.

After witnessing the movie, viewers praised it a great deal.
