After mug shot Trump posts on Twitter, now X, for first time since 2021

Following his arrest in Georgia on Thursday, former president Donald Trump published his police mugshot on X, the previous Twitter, marking his first activity there since January 2021.

The statement denotes Trump’s return to his previous favored bullhorn. It was his first public appearance in days following the uprising at the US Capitol, where a furious mob of his followers tried to prevent Joe Biden’s inauguration as president.

After the incident on January 6, Twitter decided to permanently suspend Trump after determining that he had violated the platform’s policy against glorifying violence by continuing to make his false assertions that the election had been stolen from him.

Elon Musk, who acquired the site last year, decided to bring the former president back in November 2022, but Trump opted to use his own platform, Truth Social, which has a far smaller user base, to connect with his supporters.

His post from last Thursday, which includes a link to Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, displays the mugshot of Trump, who is seen scowling at the camera while posing in Fulton County jail.
