Sheikh Hasina greeted for announcing Teesta Master Plan’s implementation

The ‘Teesta Banchao Nadi Banchao Sangram Parishad (TBNBSP)’ has congratulated and thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for announcing the implementation of the long-awaited Teesta Master Plan.

TBNBSP President Principal Nazrul Islam Haqqani and General Secretary Shafiar Rahman congratulated the Prime Minister on behalf of millions of Teesta basin residents in a joint statement issued today, and planned a seven-day gratitude and happy campaign.

Sheikh Hasina declared the implementation of the Teesta Master Plan in a clear manner, overcoming a mountain of challenges, in a divisional large public rally attended by millions of people on Wednesday afternoon at Zilla School ground here.

“With this historic declaration by the Prime Minister, the official programme for realization of the Teesta Master Plan, a dream journey of millions of people in the northern districts affected by hundreds of deprivations, has been initiated,” the statement said.

The TBNBSP considers the Prime Minister’s announcement to be very clear and constructive. With the Premier’s official declaration, top authorities have already begun implementing the Teesta Master Plan.

“Within the next two months, implementation of the Teesta Master Plan will be inaugurated which has already been confirmed by Prime Minister’s Political Advisor Kabir Bin Anwar,” the statement said.

The TBNBSP leaders said: “Our slogan was ‘Teesta Master Plan: the dream of a crore of people which has been woven by Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina. In its implementation, we have only faith on her.”

The TBNBSP demanded that the Teesta Master Plan, like the Padma Bridge, be implemented with our own money to improve the lives, livelihoods, and fortunes of over one crore people.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s statement clearly expressed the declaration’s desire for Master Plan execution.

The Prime Minister has basically announced that the Teesta Master Plan will be implemented with his own funds. Millions of people in the Teesta basin are grateful to the Prime Minister for making the historic declaration.
