Russia does not want military clash with US, says Putin

When questioned about the US-led provocations in Syria, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that his country is prepared for any situation but does not desire a direct military confrontation.

“We are always ready for any scenario, but no one wants this, and on the initiative of the American side we once created a special mechanism to prevent these conflicts.

Our heads of certain departments communicate directly with each other, have the opportunity to consult on any crisis situation. This shows that no one wants clashes,” Putin told reporters.

The international coalition led by the US has reportedly conducted 23 risky approaches to Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft in the skies over Syria since the start of this year, while drones have breached flight safety in Syria 340 times, according to the Russian side. Eight times on July 27 alone, fighter jets from the anti-terror coalition that supports the US violated Syrian airspace.
