This evening, a waterbus carrying passengers capsized in the Buriganga river close to Keraniganj’s Telghat neighborhood.
Rafi Al Farook, the on-call officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters, confirmed the incident and stated that the waterbus capsized at around 8.15 p.m.
He added that the cause of the sinking, the number of passengers, and the number of injuries have not yet been determined as three divers from the fire service diving team are searching the river for survivors.
