Pakistan’s Shaheen bags 100 Test wickets

Shaheen Shah Afridi of Pakistan, who had been injured, took his 100th Test wicket against Sri Lanka on Sunday in Galle.

At the commencement of the two-match series, Sri Lanka decided to bat first, and left-arm fast Shaheen struck in his second over to dismiss Nishan Madushka for four runs after being caught behind.

At the same location last year, the pace spearhead had amassed 99 wickets in 25 Tests before suffering a knee injury that sidelined him.

Since making his international debut in 2018, Shaheen, 23, has taken 134 wickets in white-ball matches and has established himself as a key bowler for the Babar Azam-led team.
