PM of Bangladesh travels to Geneva for “World of Work Summit”

As part of an official visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Geneva this afternoon. She will be there to attend the “World of Work Summit: Social Justice for All,” which will take place in Geneva on June 14–15.

Prime Minister’s Speech Writer Md. Nazrul Islam told BSS that a routine flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage touched down at Geneva International airport around 5.10 p.m. local time (09.10 p.m. BST).

At 10:14 a.m., the plane took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Director Flippo Grandi will meet with the Prime Minister on June 14 at her residence during the visit.

The prime minister will later meet with Swiss Confederation President Alain Berset in the Palais de Nations. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the improvement of Knowledge and Skills between Bangladesh and Switzerland is anticipated to be signed there following the call.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the Plenary of “World of Work Summit 2023” at Palais de Nations.
